Talawa Connect is back.

Talawa Connect is a programme dedicated to local artist development through workshops, masterclasses and network sessions.

Across the next 6 months, Talawa will provide creatives, audiences and the wider Croydon community with the opportunity to explore the many paths into creativity and theatre.

Established artists will host a variety of session, including Intro to Screen Acting, Producing, Directing, Dance & Movement, Music Production and Writing; as well as Masterclasses and Networking sessions.

Introduction to Acting for Screen with Adeyinka Akinrinade

A practical screen acting workshop for actors who have limited screen experience. In the workshop we’ll be working with text, looking at different games and exercises and ending with a Q&A.

Adeyinka is an Actor, Creative Producer and Co-Founder of theatre and film company, The Basement Bunch. In 2016, she was the Festival Director of The British Urban Film Festival, where she programmed short films and feature films from the UK & Internationally. Adeyinka has produced three short films, Naca, BFI funded ‘The Lost Land Girl’ and most recently 'AURA' which has screened in the UK, US & Europe. As an actor, Adeyinka has performed at The National Theatre, Orange Tree Theatre, Theatre 503 & Paines Plough Roundabout. Her TV & film credits include ‘Grantchester’, ‘Top Boy’, ‘Everything I Know About Love’ and most recently ITV's & Amazon Prime's 'Riches' as Alesha Richards and BBC/NETFLIX 'Champion' as Chantelle. Adeyinka is also currently a Trustee for Tangled Feet and a Director of Next Generation Youth Theatre.
