Arts & Culture Wellbeing Sessions 2024
Do you work in the Arts & Culture sector and identify as part of a racialised Global Majority (ethnically diverse, Muslim and migrant/asylum status) communities who were targeted during the recent race riots?
Roles include, but are not limited to, arts administrative staff, performers, designers, dancers, choreographers, stage managers, producers, marketeers, fundraisers, writers, directors and facilitators.
We invite you to join our Arts & Culture Wellbeing Sessions that we announced as part of statement made by Global Majority led theatre collective (Tamasha Theatre, Tara Theatre, New Earth Theatre, Beyond Face, tiata fahodzi and Talawa Theatre Company).
The collective statement is a response to the nationwide race riots with a key message of offering wellbeing sessions to cultural sector employees who may be affected by the current events.

We will be holding three in-person evening sessions in London this Autumn.
Registrations are now open to those who would like to attend.
These sessions will be run by a highly experienced and qualified Dramatherapist, Creative Clinical Supervisor & Wellness, Cultural & Diversity Consultant; Carol Cumberbatch. Carol’s practice is rooted in cultural, intersectional and creative-expressive contexts & resources, facilitating brave & safe sessions that explore aspects of personal & global experiences through inflection, reflection & play.

- Monthly, 2.5 hour evening sessions for individuals working in the Arts & Culture sector.
- Exploring the perspectives of Wellbeing, as individuals, the group & global community.
- Self-expression through play and creativity using art materials and games.
- Dedicated time for inflection and reflection on current events.
- A responsive space to relax, release, recharge & recalibrate, because you are worth it!
How to sign up
To register your interest please review the information pack below and complete the Wellbeing Session form.
You can select to attend in September, October or November 2024.
Book your place from: Friday 23 August 2024 .
Booking remains open until the respective session closing date or once all places. have been booked.
September session - Booking closes: Monday 2nd September, 1pm
October session - Booking closes: Wednesday 25th September, 1pm
November session - Booking closes: Thursday 31st October, 1pm
Talawa Theatre Company will be in touch via email to confirm your place and confirm session details. Each session is for a maximum of 20 participants. We recommend registering your interest early as places are bookable on a first-come-first-served basis.
