"All I can say for my summer with TYPT:10 is wow! I will never forget it."
Tash Marshall
Talawa Young People's Theatre (TYPT) is for anyone involved in making theatre - performers, designers, stage managers, writers, directors and technicians aged 18 - 25 years.
It is an intensive four-week summer school during which you work under the guidance of professional practitioners to create an original piece of theatre for performance at The Embassy Theatre, Central School of Speech and Drama.
There are two ways to be involved:
ON-STAGE
You will work intensively with the practitioners in the rehearsal room to write, devise and perform a piece of theatre.
OFF-STAGE
Young designers, stage managers and technicians will work as part of the production team from initial meetings to the final show.
To apply, decide if you want to work ON-STAGE or OFF-STAGE and then write about yourself saying:
- what you've done and what you're doing now
- what you would like to do in the future
- what you'd bring to the TYPT:12 experience
- your date of birth and full contact details
Applications should be marked either ON-STAGE or OFF-STAGE and must reach us by 30 May 2012.
You can post your application to Talawa Theatre Company, 53-55 East Road, Lodnon N1 6AH or email it to gail@talawa.com.
Auditions and interviews will be held on 16 June 2012.
If you have any questions, ring Gail on 020 7017 8983 or email her at gail@talawa.com.
