'O my fair warrior...O my soul's joy'

Othello, a Moorish General in the service of the State, elopes with Desdemona, the daughter of an aristocrat who promptly disowns her. Othello is ent to command the forces in Cyprus, leading their defence against the Turks. At Desdemona's request, Othello agrees to her accompanying him on duty. Iago and Cassio both serve under Othello's command. For reasons which include jealousy, racism and social dysfunction, Iago accuses Desdemona of adultery with Cassio - engineering a series of situations which beguile Othello into believing his lies.

Therein lies our tragedy.
