Retrace: Identity and Heritage

A cross-curricular resource for KS3/4

Retrace explores cultural exchange between the UK and other countries linked by the Transatlantic Slave Trade and Colonialism. The pack uses archive material from V&A Theatre Collections dating from 1833.

• Examine the impact of these exchanges on our society and individual identities
• Make connections between this heritage and the way students talk, move and the music they listen to
• Discover evidence of the resourcefulness, humour, and rich culture produced when communities meet
