Talawa is happy to read all scripts submitted to the company and consider each individually for possible development and/or production. At the very least, all submissions will receive a reader's report for useful feedback.

When scripts are received an acknowledgment letter will be sent to the writer. Each script is referred to a reader who is a theatre professional with experience in new writing. On their recommendation, scripts are either further considered for development or production. We will write to the writer to communicate the outcome and include the reader's report.

Scripts that reach second stage consideration will not usually be reported on in detail when the consideration process is complete.

Please note that the entire script consideration process may take 4-6 months.

We accept only complete theatre scripts, and not excerpts, synopses, television, film or radio scripts. All UK originating scripts that are not passed on for development or production will not be returned unless an SAE is included. International scripts will require an SAE with sufficient postage. We also accept scripts on email where this is agreed with the company in advance.
