Talawa is committed to sharing the creative processes behind our artistic work and to encouraging lifelong learning in a variety of settings.
We run a programme of inclusive outreach activities aimed at supporting artists, giving resonance to the concerns of Black British communities and working with young people to explore issues of importance to them.
Participatory programmes include:
Schools and Community Projects | working with people of all ages and abilities in a variety of settings, placing a strong emphasis on partnership with teachers, group leaders and partipants to identify objectives collaboratively and to evaluate success at the conclusion of the project
TYPT | Talawa's flagship programme for emerging theatre makers aged between 18 and 25.
Creating Routes | a practical training programme for theatre makers who want to use their creative skills in the community.
Resource Packs | providing activity ideas and resources for formal and non-formal learning settings, but also designed for use in schools.
