Talawa was founded in 1986 by Yvonne Brewster, Carmen Munroe, Mona Hammond and Inigo Espejel, in response to the lack of creative opportunities for Black actors and the marginalisation of Black peoples from cultural processes.
Today, Talawa is the primary Black theatre company in the UK, with more than 50 touring productions from African classics to Oscar Wilde behind it.
We've recently moved in to our new home, Fairfield Halls, in the Cultural and Education Quarter of Croydon.
We will announce any vacancies on this page. If you want to help us in the next phase of our development, bringing your energy, commitment and new ideas to shape Talawa for future generations of Black artists, theatre makers and all members of the community, then check this page out for any announcements.
